For allegedly plagiarising Jay-Z’s American Gangster cover. This is not fair. Nobody said anything when TKZee was biting Mase and deadpreaz. Bathathe Hova.

Just thought i’d remind yall that today marks exactly 32 years since the martyrdom of Steve Bantubonke Biko on Sep 12, 1977 at the tender age of 30. You’re obviously new here if you thought I’d forget. We forgive but will never forget, that’s the motto. And that goes for all the lesser-known men and women who ‘disappeared’ under mysterious circumstances in that brutal part of our not-so-distant-history. This is not even a political post, it’s more lifestyle. Go figure.
Check out this this cool interview with Cape Town’s foremost crew, Ill Skillz.
My fav verse of his: on Common’s “Thelonius”.

Word from Rage is: Top South African hip hop artist, ZUBZ IS MISSING. He was last seen performing at a private party in Kimberly this past weekend. His band members and management claim they last saw him on Saturday night talking to a girl
known only as Cyndi after the show. The identity and whereabouts of Cyndi is
also unknown.
His record label Outrageous Records, realised something was amiss on Monday after Zubz uncharacteristically missed scheduled interviews and is not available on his mobile number or at home.
Has anyone seen Zubz?
If you have any information regarding this case, please contact his record label:

(thinks out loud) Well me I just hope no one is tryna pull a bad publicity stunt here coz I remeber hearing something about a psycho Cyndi in one of dude’s songs can’t quite recall which one exactly but then again i could be wrong so uhm yea.
UPDATE: Well aint that some bull. Turns out this ninja aint missing. But wait you have to read the lousy explanation for this sorry stunt(right after the jump). Something about raising awareness about missing children. SMH. I fugging hate these conscious rappers. Chuuch! But we all know this is what they wanted, everyone running off their mouth on the biggest non-event on the rap calendar. So there you have it. Enjoy.
May Allah, The King of all kings, have mercy on his soul. Ameen.
Get your act right all you deadbeat ninjas.

The worldwide limited release of “THE YEAR OF THE OX” by Reebok celebrates the Chinese New Year which commenced from the 27th of January. Each city worldwide only received 12 pairs per city. Street culture boutique, Shelflife in Cape Town received all 12 pairs in South Africa (lucky bast*s)! If you’re lucky you’ll still get a pair [here]? Or not.
And here’s a must-get for all you fellow Street Fighter arcade game fiends. I tell my nephew all the time- I was raised off this and Contra, not these R500 a pop PS3 and XBox stuff.
But yo how cool is this? The closest some of you losers will ever get to a Ferrari- that’s how cool!
Swiped off the forums at AG actually.
In the words of Martin Luther King Jnr. Christopher Wallace.
You already know how fussy we are about posting anything not related to the SA scene but we shouldn’t even have to tell why this is a great look for Hip Hop in general right now.
Hit the jump for the rest of the covers.
Says DPlanet on the piece, “Check out page 26 of this month’s GC Magazine (October 2008). Miles Keylock has written a nice piece called, Hip Hop Diaspora - Hip-Hop’s not dead; it’s just gone global. In it he discusses the idea that hip hop is alive and well, especially if you look beyond the borders of the United States. Your boy Sharpa is used as an example of just how healthy and vibrant the global scene is.
More over here. As you might already know, this is apparently the first single off of the homey Rah’s ‘Bread and Butter’ due October 15th alongside Ben Sharpa’s ‘B. Sharpa’ coming out on Pioneer Unit.
